The U.S. Commerce Department lifted export controls on Anthropic's Claude Fable 5 model on June 30, following a jailbreak-linked block, and access resumed July 1. Anthropic added a safety classifier blocking the flagged exploit technique in over 99% of cases. Through July 7, subscribers can use Fable 5 within existing plan limits; afterward, continued access requires metered usage credits at $10-$50 per million tokens.
