You can delete your The Daily Screener account, and the data tied to it, at any time — directly from the app, in a few taps. This page explains how, and exactly what gets removed.
01Delete from inside the app
The fastest way is from your account screen:
- Open the app and sign in to your account.
- Go to the Profile tab and tap the pencil (edit) icon.
- On Edit Profile, scroll to the Danger zone and tap Delete account.
- Confirm in the dialog. Your account and data are deleted right away and you're signed out.
Deletion is immediate and permanent — there is no recovery or undo, so make sure you want to remove everything before you confirm.
02What gets deleted
When you delete your account, we remove your personal data from our systems, including:
- Your account & sign-in — your name, email, and login (email/password or Google).
- Saved articles — everything you've saved or bookmarked in the app.
- Topics & preferences — the subjects you follow and how you've tuned your feed.
- Notification subscription — your device is unsubscribed from push alerts.
03What we may keep
We only retain what we're legally required to — for example, limited records needed for security, fraud prevention, or tax and accounting obligations. Anything we keep is held no longer than necessary, and the editorial content published in the app (the screened stories themselves) is independent of your account and unaffected.
04Can't sign in to the app?
If you can't access your account, email us at thedailyscreener@gmail.com from the email address on your account and ask us to delete it. We'll verify the request and remove your data within 30 days.
