Anthropic's Claude tackles protein design

Anthropic reports that Claude, running a design campaign largely on its own, produced protein binders against 14 of 15 disease-relevant targets. Adaptyv Bio and Twist Bioscience made and tested the designs, confirming 354 of 1,320 bound, about 27%, versus the 10-15% Anthropic calculates is typical today. The company cautions that binders are not drugs and that fuller verification is still pending.
