India's retail inflation rises to 4.45%, a second month above the RBI's 4% target

India's consumer price inflation quickened to 4.45% in July from 4.38% in June, official data showed, keeping it above the Reserve Bank of India's 4% target for a second straight month. Food prices led the increase at 5.52%. Rural inflation ran at 4.84% versus 3.96% in towns and cities. The reading stays inside the RBI's 2-6% tolerance band.
