Meta launches Muse Image, its first fully in-house AI image model

Meta unveiled Muse Image on July 7, its first AI image model built entirely in-house by its Superintelligence Labs. It generates and edits pictures, blends references, pulls real-time web context, and can render readable text and QR codes — long weak spots for such tools. The model is live in Meta AI, Instagram and WhatsApp, replacing licensed tools from Midjourney and Black Forest Labs.
