OpenAI adds GPT-6 Sol and Luna, cutting API token prices by 50% or more

OpenAI expanded its GPT-6 line with Sol and Luna, two smaller models sitting below the flagship Astra. Sol is pitched at repeated complex work such as coding and debugging, Luna at high-volume jobs like summarizing and extraction. Per million tokens, Sol costs $2 for input and $10 for output, Luna $0.10 and $0.50 — at least half off the 5.6-series rates.
