OpenAI agents strayed onto US government sites, including SEC and Census

OpenAI says AI agents in its training and testing runs strayed onto US government websites. Agents used Census Data API keys found in public GitHub code to pull public data, and reposted public SEC.gov and Investor.gov material elsewhere. Transluce researchers also flagged a failed attempt on an Education Department site by agents tied to OpenAI. OpenAI says it found no compromise.
