Alibaba unveiled Qwen3.8-Max, a 2.4-trillion-parameter mixture-of-experts model handling text, image and video across a one-million-token context. The company says it rivals leading OpenAI and Anthropic systems and will publish the weights next week - the first Max-class Qwen released openly, marking a return to open-source after several proprietary flagships. Independent benchmark verification is still pending. Hong Kong-listed shares rose about 7%.
