Fed holds rates at 3.50%-3.75% as three officials push for a hike

The Federal Reserve left its benchmark rate in a 3.50%–3.75% range for a fifth straight meeting, but the 9-3 vote exposed a rare split: Cleveland's Hammack, Minneapolis' Kashkari and Dallas' Logan each wanted a quarter-point hike. Officials see solid growth while inflation stays above the 2% goal. Chair Kevin Warsh welcomed the debate. Traders now put September hike odds near 57%.
